An Unsung Heroine is a woman who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication to issues that affect women at Emory or in the larger community, but whose efforts heretofore have not received any accolades or formal recognition.
In order for your nomination to be considered, a thorough description of why the nominee would be considered an Unsung Heroine keeping in mind the criteria listed or similarly pertinent activities or deeds. A letter must be submitted that includes the name, department and daytime phone number of the nominee and the nominator and for which category you are nominating the candidate.
Help us honor and celebrate a woman you know by writing a letter telling us how she has done one or more of the following:
• taken substantial risks to challenge sexism
• trailblazer in previously male-dominated environments
• done significant community service work in the
promotion of safety, justice, and equity for girls and women
• served as role model or mentor for girls or women

Awards will be presented to the recipients at a Reception and Ceremony in their honor on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Miller-Ward Alumni House.
