Only the Best in the Nursing Nest

The winter 1998 issue of About Women on Campus touts the Center for Women at Emory's Nursing Nest in the section "Around the Campus," thanks to a fall visit to Emory by Dr. Bernice Resnick Sandler, who is editor of the publication. Nursing moms- predominately graduate students and staff-continue to exclaim over the unique space, where they can come to pump their breast milk and relax with the assurance of complete privacy. Expectant moms, too, are welcome to come by and check out the space and take a load off their feet!

“Human milk is uniquely superior for infant feeding; all substitute feeding options differ markedly from it. Research shows human milk and breastfeeding of infants provide advantages with regard to general health, growth, and development, while significantly decreasing risk for a large number of acute and chronic diseases.”
– American Academy of Pediatrics Work Group on Breastfeeding
